I haven't blogged for such a long time. I am sorry. I have an update that totally came at me from left field. Have you ever had to tell the most important people in your life that your doctor only gives you a few months to live? I had to do that today. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. My cancer has spread so much and is so aggressive that the doctor didn't give me much time. He said the chemo should help extend the time some but it is a 50/50 chance. They don't know me very well. I have too much to live for and to much to do. Because you see I am the best grandma in the world and if I go now none of my grandkids will remember that. That is unacceptable. So I really need your prayers and your faith because I have to fight for my life and I need all the help I can get.

Finally an update
It's been a long time since I have posted anything so I thought it was time for an update. I went back to work on March 8th. It has been hard but good. I had a couple of spells of Vertigo and so they did a Brain MRI. A little spot showed up and this last Thursday I saw the best Neurosurgeon in Arizona and he told me that it was too little to tell what it was and it was definitely not what caused my vertigo so we will do another MRI in 3 months. I haven't had anymore spells and that has been about a month. Just a freaky thing I guess. My incisions have all healed but I have some dead tissue in my right breast. I saw my surgeon on Friday and he said he would take it out in June. Other then that I am just coasting along which works for me. I have had another PET Scan and that showed that the cancer has not spread and the chemo did a really good job of getting rid of most of it. So at this point all is good.

Still in the hospital
So they did surgery, but didn't find what they thought. They thought there would be a lot to drain, but there really wasn't and the swelling is getting worse. They've had her on strong antibiotics and will see what the cultures show us when they come back tomorrow. The poor woman is just sick of that hospital, but I'm afraid she'll still be there for a while longer.

Surgery
I guess a lot has happened since the last post. Mom's surgery on January 5th went very well. They finished about 3 hours earlier then they had anticipated because everything went so well. She was also in the hospital about 2 days less than they thought she'd be. She got to go home on Monday, the 10th. She was very tired and sore, but had a good progress report from her doctor when she went in for her first follow-up visit on Thursday. She had three drains put in her body (one in her breast and two in her stomach) and the doctor took the one out of her breast at her Thursday visit. Unfortunately, on Friday, she noticed that her breast began to swell. It kept getting bigger through Saturday, so she met the doctor at the hospital this morning at 8:00 am. Originally the doctor thought that she was just retaining fluid that could be drained with a needle. Unfortunately, it was not that easy and they admitted her again. They are still not sure if it is fluid or if there is an infection. They have put her on a strong antibiotic and will watch her tonight. If nothing improves by tomorrow, they may have to do surgery again to open her up and see what is going on. She's very sad to be back in the hospital, so please keep her in your prayers and pray she doesn't have to have another surgery! Love you all and thank you so much for your support!

Surgery
Just an update for everyone. I am having surgery on the fifth of January at the Mayo clinic in Phoenix. I will be in the hospital for a week with two of the days in ICU. It is a pretty extensive and delicate surgery. I have a two month recov ery. Look for me to be climbing the walls. But after all is said and done I should be able to live my life pretty normally for a few years. I look forward to that.

Feeling Great
Just a quick note. I am feeling great!!! I have met with both the cancer surgeon and the reconstructive surgeon. l The surgery they think will be best for me has quite a long time recovery time. I should know in the next couple of weeks when my surgery is going to be. I am looking forward to a healthy holiday season and all my kids and grandkids coming for Christmas.

PROGRESS
So I went back to work yesterday and it went great. I felt good all day and was really tired last night but it was a good tired. I met with the surgeon on Monday and he wants to do surgery before the end of January.I meet with the Reconstrution surgeon this coming Monday. Then we will decide a date for surgery. They say my bone cancer is in remission and we are going to chop the rest out so I am on the mend. Thanks for all your support.
